Sunday, June 1, 2008-The Ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time:  Brothers and sisters in Christ, today we begin the longest stretch of Ordinary Time in the Church year.  The Holy Spirit opens our hearts and minds to listen to the sacred word.  Here we are fed by word.  Here we are fed at the table of the Eucharist.  We proclaim God as our rock of safety as this Mass begins and we lift our voices in praise and thanksgiving.
