Sunday, May 4, 2008-TheAscension of the Lord:  Sisters and brothers, today we recall Christ’s ascension into heaven.  Soon, at the culmination of Easter’s fifty days, we will celebrate Pentecost.  Today the Lord commissions his disciples, and us, and promises to be with us until the end of time.  This Mass is one way that the Lord’s enduring presence is revealed, week after week.  Let us not take his presence here for granted, but lift up our hearts and voices in a song of praise and thanksgiving for that presence.

Thank You:  This year’s first communicants, Raegan Barrett, Danny Casey and Seth Stamp, along with their teacher, Leslie Stamp, wish to extend to the parish their gratitude for your prayerful support throughout their sacramental preparation, and to the ladies of the Altar Society, their appreciation for last Sunday’s breakfast.
